Welcome to the first blog post for Smith Printing Services. Think with me for a moment about Printing, Branding and Graphic Design.
There are three components that are essential to a well executed printing project:
1). Printing Design
3). Graphic Design
Undoubtedly, you have seen television commercials that were spectacular in their photography, hilarious in their comedic value and unforgetable … except for the small detail of what product they were promoting. That kind of advertisement amounts to eye candy.
It is pleasurable, but has no real lasting value.
A well executed printing project depends upon Printing Design in order to make a project affordable and avoid common mistakes, such as spelling errors or incorrect images. Its power lies in the refined efforts of a design team to focus the mind on a single important thought.
Printing projects depend upon Branding because at the end of the moment of consideration that your reader gives you, it is imperative that they remember who you are and what they are supposed to do. An exceptional project is one where the reader returns to your page just to make sure they understood it.
Graphic Design is essential because words appeal to one side of the brain and images appeal to the other. Good marketing knows how to tunnel past the advertising filters we all posses to plant the seeds that will germinate into action later.
Who Do They Say You Are?
When you’re in business, whether you’re a one person shop or large operation, you want potential customers to know who are and what you can do. This means you must have a consistent brand that ensures your name is recognized and your reputation is respected.
The writer Laura Lake puts it this way:
Branding is not only about getting your target market to select you over the competition, but about getting your prospects to see you as the sole provider of a solution to their problem or need.
She also gives some objectives for a good brand. It should:
• Clearly, deliver the message
• Confirm your credibility
• Emotionally connect your target prospects with your product and or service.
• Motivate the buyer to buy
• Creates User Loyalty
You can have effective branding with consistent and quality communication. This means that all printed material, as well as information that is distributed through digital and social media, must reflect the excellence of the goods and services your company provides.
I’m proud to say that I am the founder and Chief Operations Officer of Smith Printing Services. But what really matters is what my current and potential clients say about our company. At the end of the day, I want them to say, “I have a great relationship with Smith Printing Services. That company paid attention to my needs and my ideas. They delivered first class goods and services that saved me time and money.”
When you’re establishing your company brand, ask yourself the question: “Who do they say you are?”
